About the artist
William "Keala" Kai is a Kaua'i native and professional waterman, a crew member of the Polynesian voyaging canoe Hokule'a, and a builder of the Kaua'i voyaging canoe Namahoe.

      "Each of my creations is a deep, personal, emotional expression of what I feel. To understand my art is to understand the very unique culture I represent. I draw to express words that do not exist. My drawings are my voice."
